Garmin LVS62 Mounting System was selected due to the physical size of this transducer: it is necessary to get it located as closely as possible under the center of the downrod.
This ball and pin system allows for this type of mounting while at the same time giving all 3 views with the transducer.
The Pin fits the transducer thru hole. The ball with stud is secured to the pin/transducer assembly. Loctite is included to help everything stay tight.
Alignment for forward and down views is simple as laying the downrod onto the deck with the handle and transducer flat.
This mounting provides some strain relief should the transducer contact underwater obsticles. Helps to prevent damage to mountings.
